Sometime in November I have to visit a courier service center becos I have to return a package to a seller who wrongly shipped a smaller size. Too inconvenient my thoughts, and despite going to the physical center I have to personally download their app and key in everything just to make that booking. Too late when I realised that I have the option to use their service platform online and arrange a pick up. Anyway, my POV only (and this is just me when I sound hangry) –with the service center set-up of customers encoding all details using the app I think they don’t need a group of staff to man the counter. Sorry I don’t want to sound mean and wish unemployment, I just wish that the system is better and friendlier to its customers.
And being said that I’m hangry becos at 11:30am the lady at the counter advised me that it’s lunch break and to be entertained I need to be back at 1pm (after their 1 hr and 30 mins lunch break) I was at the verge of making a scene already. So, to appease the monster in me we decided to have a quick lunch on the 2nd floor of the building. It was a tug between samgyup and ramen, and the latter won becos the samgyup resto is closed for business.
I’m not so sure if the resto was still named Hoiru Ramen when we dined becos it’s named Wano Ramen now. It’s a Japanese resto, authentic daw and I would not contest that becos I’ve never been to Japan and my first Japanese ramen was that from Ikkoryu Fukuoka. Well, to date, Boteyju was my favorite but I can’t compare, especially Hoiru is a local player.
Hoiru Ramen (?)
Okonomiyaki
We had a not so complicated ramen, I forgot what it’s called but basically it’s pork slices and egg in creamy broth. I normally ask for a second bowl so I can split the ramen into two and order more. We also had Gyudon, a favorite in any Japanese resto and an order of Okonomiyaki. Ze husband finished the big bowl of Gyudon becos he was really hungry, maybe I scooped a spoon only so I can’t really tell how it was. The Okonomiyaki was big and filling, I always love this becos it’s similar to takoyaki only that it’s flat like a pancake. I just wish the toppings were generous enough to cover the pancake –more savory with plenty of sauce, mayo and bonito flakes!

Anyhow, right after doing my business at the courier center we head home. On normal days, we might have a swing by SM becos it’s just a few meters away but the community quarantine changes too many routines and I’m basically ok with that now.
Nanay’s 69th {30 May 2021}
By the way, a lot has happened since my last post here. We celebrated a lot of birthdays at home and recently mourned for the loss of a loved one. I suddenly hoped for normalcy so we can pay respect and travel right away but with heightened restrictions and other protocols, it’s just sad that even wakes weren’t allowed. Rest in peace, Tatang. I will definitely miss you po. ♥
P.S. I have my first jab of Covid-19 vaccine already and will be fully vaccinated in a week time. I hope everyone will get their dose. Put my two cents in –to those who choose not to get vaccinated and to those who are picky on what brand they will get. Getting the vaccine is a blessing regardless of brand. It intends safety for you and for people you are closest too –your family, so the soonest you get it, the soonest you’ll be at peace. If you don’t have a family member or you yourself haven’t contracted/exposed to the virus, you’re lucky today but don’t be lax because Covid-19 is very serious. The virus is no joke. Don’t wait until it hit you or anyone you dear. Don’t tell me I didn’t warned you.
